Had a family meal after reading the review on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed! The evening was enjoyed by all from start to finish. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff well dressed and helpful, with a nice knowledge of the menu and specials. The food was first class, with minimal waits between courses. The food was all home-made and cooked to order and we were informed that all ingredients were locally sourced. The steaks we had were especially good! A massively stocked bar with real ales and a wide range of wines were available as well as a great selection of whiskies - a massive selling point for one of our party. Will be visiting again soon. It has been added to the top of our lists for evenings out.

A complete dining experience, within a classic, contemporary atmosphere with a delicious range of food. Very good value for money.

On arrival at this restaurant, we were immediately impressed by the recent renovations. It looks superb. We were looking forward to an experience to match the decor. However, this was not to be. The service, although very friendly, was very slow. 30 minutes to get our starter, no bread to nibble on whilst waiting, had to ask, even though the menu states that a mixed bread basket will be brought to you. When bread came it was cold , as though straight from fridge. Would have preferred it warm from the oven. Had soup, delicious, and hot. Main course came after another 35 minutes, steak was tough and overcooked as was the chicken, very dry. Lovely chips, vegetables ok, but too many. After this guargantuan meal, and time taken we were unable to indulge in any sweets. We will viist again, but will probably wait 6 months or so, hopefully the teething issues will sort themselves out. Although satisifed, not blown away by it.
Fist time but not the Last time. We will have to go back as there were so many choices which all looked good. The Wild mushrooms in a garlic cream sauce were to die for, we then went for our favourite and always safe Rib Eye Steak cooked to perfection Mmmm , followed by White Chocolate Parfiat. We then could not move so full, and unfortunatly had to stay and have a drink at there well stocked bar. We were not rushed out and were made very welcome.
Having eaten here, I thoroughly recommend The Terrace Restaurant. Colin and the staff provide a warm and friendly welcome. The food, service and setting are all superb and we had a fantastic evening. Will definitely be going again. The prices are very reasonable and the portion size means you definitely get value for money. Thank you.
Visited this latest Tavistock restuarant this week, and must say what a good quality meal we had. Went for staff recommended dishes and was not dissapointed in eithe quality or quantity of the meals and staff - there are number of tempting dishes to try for our next visit. The surroundings are very pleasant and stylish, and the staff make you feel very welcome. There is also a wide selection of drinks available including real ales and some very nice single malts. Impressed with the whole experience and will be returning again soon.
