The town was buzzing this Saturday 4th August with lots of things going on. The Tidy Tavi team received some help with their litter picking from the lovely Street Artist in Bank Square.
A photographer from the Herald newspaper turned up and took a photo of the volunteers, it seems the word is spreading about what Tidy Tavi are doing here in Tavistock! and we hope it catches on in other area's.

Thank you to the 23 volunteers who came and helped with collecting the 25 bags of litter.
Five groups worked for 2 hours in and around the streets of Tavistock picking up the litter some of which was fast food packaging especially in the vicinity of the Parish Church. This is very upsetting to see, especially as there are plenty of bins in the town centre. People take the trouble to find the fast food to take away, so why can they not take the trouble to find a bin to dispose of their rubbish.

Clr Debo Sellis was spotted not only collecting litter but also pulling up weeds, multi tasking - Well done Debo and thank you for all your support.

Thank you to all the people who go out and do their bit to help keep Tavistock looking nice. There are lots of folk very quietly picking up litter by themselves day after day. To those people I want to say a huge big thank you.

Our next Tidy Tavi day is Saturday 1st Sept. We meet at the Wharf car park at 9.50am.
We are a friendly bunch of volunteers and would love for you to join us. Litter pickers, tabards and bags supplied, just bring your own protective gloves.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
