Tidy Tavi Day 02/03/13

Keep up the good work TavyTidyTeam! It is extraordinary that people continue to drop rubbish around the town. Tavistock has so much going for it that it is a such a shame that it is spoiled by the thoughtless actions of a minority of inhabitants. Let's be proud of our town by putting rubbish in the bin where it belongs or taking it home.

I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT!
Why when there are ample waste bins throughout the town are people still throwing litter down.

Many thanks to the 34 Tidy Tavi volunteers who collected 32 full bags and 3 recyclable bags of litter in and around the town.

In some area's we have noticed less litter being dropped, although there are the regular hot spots. The Bus Station, Westdevon Business park, Pixon Lane Ind. Est. these area's are particularly bad. It amazes me that even though there are two waste bins in the bus station, you will always see large amounts of litter under the seats.

Come on people do your bit and put your rubbish in the bins or if there isn't one in sight, find one or take it home.

It has been said to me why are you picking litter up? it's the Council's job to do it! WRONG.
It is an offence to drop litter or not pick up your dog poo. YOU are responsible.

By doing your bit YOU can make a difference to how your town looks.
