One way road section - Pixon Lane

Junction of Pixon Lane and Whitchurch Road.

I suggest that the first 100 yards from the Market Inn be one way heading towards the Market car park.

This will stop use of Pixon Lane as a 'Rat Run' whilst still maintaining important large traffic flow to from Crelake Industrial estate, etc.

The exit from Pixon Lane into Whitchurch Road has limited visibility hence the stop line and far too many drivers taking chances.

Come on Highways Dept - lets have a trial period before we have a serious incident.

If we had no speed bumps then there would be cars zooming down the main shopping street. Thats not a very good idea is it?

I agree the humps are dangerous, not just because they're treated liked pedestrian crossings. They're dangerous for emergency vehicles trying to negotiate them at speed. I think we should get rid of speed humps.

A little over dramatic. Pixon Lane is no more a rat run then a road that exists to get from A to B. It is not an easy junction with Whitchurch Road but it is not impossible. The more dangerous matters are humps in the Town Centre that are treated like pedestrian crossings.

Try and think outside of your box!  A rat run is just that.  As I do not think we should live like rats - I am prepared to seek better solutions - rather than stand aside and see a life taken.

Not a good idea. A rat run in Tavistock is normal road use. That is more the nature of the road system. To make that part one way would induce unwarranted congestion. Just from Sat Nav direction alone. That junction is awkward but no more unsafe than any other junction, if you do not take the appropriate amount of care.
