The Wesseling-West Devon group has 70 members, who visit each other's district in alternate years.
“I am delighted to plant this birch tree in recognition of our links with Wesseling," said West Devon Mayor Cllr Alison Clish-Green. "I was a member of the council 25 years ago and am pleased that the bond between our areas continues.”
David Williams, chairman of Club Wesseling, said both groups needed younger members to join them.
“We really have a wonderful time and forge lasting friendships which continue for years.”
