Hello. I am the new Community Publisher of TavistockPeople. I've just arrived from London this past weekend and am looking forward to exploring the area. I was Editor of Artists & Illustrators, the national art magazine, for 3 years until last Friday, and I paint and do textile art, such as quilting. I am also a photographer and musician as well as a writer, so would love to meet other like-minded people. I like walking, so please get in touch to tell me where's the best place to go for the most beautiful views and where to see wildlife - as well as all the local news in Tavistock.

ReportThanks David and Richard. I am looking forward to getting out into the country and doing some walking (I've got plenty of waterproof gear, which I think I'm going to need!). And Tavistock is certainly a lovely, vibrant town.
Since I am new to the area and to Tavistock, if you have any information on events, interesting people, news or things going on that would be good for TavistockPeople, I would appreciate it if you could let me know. It will take a while for people to get to know that I am the person to send their news to.

Welcome to Tavistock! The best market town, in the best county, in the whole of England, (even if one of the wettest.) The best view of the area from the east of Tavistock is probably the car park at the top of Pork Hill on the road to Princetown. The best best view from the west, is probably the top of Kit Hill across the border in C*rnw*ll. :-)
