EV Thompson
Since his first novel, Chase the Wind, won the prestigious PEN MacMillan Prize, EV Thompson has become celebrated around the world for his novels of adventure and romance. He has published more than 40 novels and non-fiction books about the West Country, all rich with historical detail and resonant with real characters.
His own life has been full of adventure and has provided inspiration for his novels – he served in the Royal Navy, was a Vice Squad police officer in Bristol, worked for British Overseas Airways as a narcotics investigator in Hong Kong, and headed the Department of Civil Aviation Security in the former Rhodesia.
Since settling in the West Country he has written many books about the region’s vibrant history and its colourful characters. He will speak at Tavistock Wharf about his West Country inspirations for his internationally popular novels.
Tickets for the talk are £4.50 (including refreshments) and are in aid of Shelterbox and its campaigns in earthquake-torn Haiti and Chile. Tel: 07817 500671 or email: info@creative-liaisons.net.
