Cleanliness is next to... quirkiness!

We were drawn into this unusual shop on Dickensian Evening, attracted by its amazing window display. The place was packed with shoppers, with staff busily distributing mince pies to the happy crowds, so we made a couple of quick purchases and came back a couple of weeks later, when things had quietened down. The shop specializes in home-made soaps, bath fizzers and creamers, all made from natural ingredients. (Some bits are even edible, as I found when I discovered my snowman bath fizzer's nose was made of marzipan – now, I know you're not meant to actually eat it, but... the temptation proved too much and I'm still here to tell the tale!) There's also quite a range of attractive vintage/shabby-chic decorative homewares ideal for wedding gifts, etc. The Christmas items made perfect stocking fillers, and I'm sure we'll be going back for gift shopping again before too long. Definitely worth a look when you're in Tavistock.

    Their new shop is superb

Odds & Suds is now located in Brook Street and it really is a very special shop. It is very well decorated and the owners have really thought about its appearance and atmosphere, both of which you would expect in a high class shop in London. The hand made soaps are lovely, all different sizes and smells. The staff go out of their way to help and are experts at gift wrapping your goodies to make the perfect present for your loved ones.
