Internet Addiction?

Hi all,

I'm currently writing a dissertation about the validity of Internet addiction, and could do with your help for a bit of research. I've put a quick questionnaire together and would really appreciate it if you could fill it out. It shouldn't take more then a couple of minutes as it's quite short. It's completely anonymous and none of the answers can be linked to you.

Click here to go to the questionnaire.

There's also an additional questionnaire that is used to determine if you are addicted to the Internet (and if so, how severely). If you have time to do both that would be great, but if you can only do one, then the first one is more important!

Click here to go to the additional questionnaire.

Please pass this on to anyone that may be interested.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you so much to everyone who's taken part in the questionnaire already. I'm just going to one last plug (promise), as I only need 20 more participants before I can start writing the results up. Click on the first link in the origial post if you have a couple of minutes to spare and want to take part. Cheers!

    Hi Kate

The Easter bank holiday took over! Yes, got a degree in Psychology :-) Teach it now. Hoping to do a phd in Psychology but it is so competitive now that I may not get a foot in the door, but we can try :-) I will urge people around me to help out with your dissertation; I keep reading things like this in the women's mags about online addiction. Good luck with your work and if you need any psychological questions answered, I could try my best :-)

Oh thank you so much for your help! I'm doing a degree in Digital Art & Technology at the University of Plymouth. Mainly computer programming, but yes we did do one very interesting module in Internet culture and psychology, which is where my dissertation idea stemmed from. We also had to do a report on online communities ... which is obviously of great interest to me :-). Am I right in thinking that you have a degree on psychology? I vaguely remember something from a post a few months back.

Kate, what is your degree in? Psychology? Sounds interesting! I know many with an addiction for the internet but they are so busy playing games and being on Facebook, I can't make them do it! Will keep trying :-)
