We've got loads of great places to eat in and around Tavistock, and most of them have been reviewed through our business directory. I thought it would be fun to play a game of 'guess the review'.
I've copied ten reviews below .... and it's your job to guess which establishment they're talking about.
1.
I have had (.....) from here a couple of times and it is you average good old (.....). Service with a smile - when I went in there a little while ago the young members of staff in there at the time were singing, dancing and incredibly entertaining and funny! Made my short wait very enjoyable! Food is nice and average price.

The food here is excellent. I’ve only ever eaten in (I’m not actually sure if they do takeaway or not, but I’m sure they do), but the service has always been great, and the prices are reasonable. As mentioned, it could do with a bit of a spruce up, but the decor doesn’t detract from a good night out. I’ve always been when its busy and the tables are quite close together and full. Some people may not like this, but I think it adds to the atmosphere.
3.
I would recommend (.....) to anyone who likes a good English breakfast. I go there every week and am always pleased with the food and the service I receive. The staff are always friendly and happy and the prices are very good as well.
4.
If you like (.....) food then Tavistock (.....) is definitely worth a visit. It’s been in Tavistock for some time now and has been consistently popular, both as a takeaway and for a sit in meal. The upstairs area is fairly large and is suitable for large groups of people, so I’ve been on several works doos here.

Go down a small road, then a smaller one. Then a smaller one. Then through a farmyard, and all of a sudden emerge into a good car park in front of a very attractive old pub! Low ceilings, stonework, log fires. A top shelf of single malts that must be ten yards long. Fabulous selection of well kept beers. Good wines. And an excellent restaurant in really nice decor. I'd recommend (.....) anytime to anyone who'd appreciate something better than usual.
6.
This is the ideal way to enjoy something a little different. There is a fashionable look and feel to (.....) and they have a range of hot and spicy dishes as well as foods such as nachos, steaks, ribs, tortillas and fajitas. There’s a real energy and vibrancy about this place.
7.
Organic is a good addition to the town! There is no other cafe like it in terms of uniqueness and solely organic goods being sold! The food is fresh and of good quality, and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately the prices are quite high but that is to be expected with organic goods!
8.
(.....) is a very nice restaurant. It is very modern inside, clean and light. The service was excellent, we were never without a drink and didn’t need to get up once. The food was excellent and the dishes that were supposed to be hot were VERY hot! One of the best Indian meals I have had. Very reasonably priced too.

This restaurant is lovely. One of the few in Tavistock town with outdoor seating - next to the river too which is amazing on a sunny day. The food has never disappointed me here. Everything looks fresh and there are also a lot of healthy choices on the menu which is nice to see. Large selection of salads and the paninis are great. I would also recommend the checking specials board too as they have lovely meals on here.
10.
We regularly go here for a Sunday roast. I think it’s about £7-8 per person which is pretty typical of this area. The food is really good though and I would definitely recommend it. The eating area on the ground floor is nicely decorated and the room has a good atmosphere to it. The location is convenient and the staff are very friendly.
The snippets above are just a selection of the many reviews left by Tavistock People users.
