Where will you be having your Christmas party in Tavistock this year?

I’ve done a bit of research and we’ve got loads of great local venues on offer.

If you want to stay in Tavistock then there’s Browns which offer a fantastic menu; a mulled wine reception; entertainment from their resident singer/songwriter; and a chance to have a boogey after the meal, from £30 per person. Alternatively they offer a similar menu with their Christmas Fayre offer – available Monday-Thursday from £19.

The Bedford Hotel is offering a three course festive lunch for £19.95. Or if you really want to get into the spirit, why not book up for their wreath making workshop and 2 course festive lunch? They’re running on 7th and 8th December, and cost £35 per person. Click here to see their brochure.

If you want to go a bit further afield, then The Plume of Feathers in Princetown is starting their Christmas Fayre on 1st December. The menu choices look really interesting, and include pan roasted loin of rabbit, roasted butternut squash & apple soup, orange & honey glazed monkfish fillet, and baked figs. The prices are pretty reasonable as well:  one course - £11.95, two courses - £14.95, and three courses - £17.95. I had a carvery there yesterday, and it already felt warm and Christmassy :) Call 01822 890240, or email pataweir@aol.com for more details.

The Halfway House is another alternative. Their Christmas menu also starts in December. They offer 4 courses at a price of £27.95 for evenings, or £17.95 for luchtimes.

Have you had any good (or bad?) experiences with Christmas parties? Where would you recommend?
