Go on ..... spoil yourself!

It appears that summer is now over – boooooooooo! The kids have gone back to school, the nights are drawing in, and the Christmas adverts are beginning to appear. After a mostly wet, and very quick (or is it just me?) summer I think we deserve to treat ourselves! :)

Bent Straight & Twisted
Be it with a facial, a shopping trip, a new hair do ..... I’m open to suggestions! Let us know if you’ve got any good ideas ....
Here’s a few to get us started:
Beauticians:
There are several local salons that cover all the beauty basics (waxing, facials, manicures, spray tanning etc.), including Pure Beauty, First Glance Beauty Studio, and the Body Zone Beauty Studio (above the gym). I’ve never (shame) actually visited any of them, so reviews and recommendations via either the comments section, or our business directory would be greatly appreciated :)
If you’re looking for some more radical treatments then the Fiztgerald Clinic on Plymouth Road may be more up your street. They offer a wide range of services including botox, permanent hair removal, and pigmentation removal. Click here to visit their website.
Hairdressers:
We are also fortunate to have a large array of hairdressers in Tavistock. Vaughans, The Works, Enhanced Hair (mobile), Bent Straight & Twisted, and Maximillian are to name but a few. I’ve been into The Works a couple of times and have always been happy with the results, but which do you think is the best? Have you tried a selection of the salons, or are you loyal to only one? ..... I feel a poll coming on here ;)
Restaurants:
Tavistock has got several great restaurants, so why not get dressed up and have a night out with friends/family? My personal favourite would have to be either the Birds Nest or Thariks, but Monterey Jacks, The Ganges, The Halfway House Inn, and Blue Mango have also received some top notch reviews on here.
Gym/health clubs:
If you fancy getting in shape then there’s Body Zone, Excel Fitness, and the Tavistock College Fitness Centre – although you may have to join a waiting list for this last one. A friend of mine is a Body Zone member and he can’t speak highly enough of it. Hey, you could double up and get a beauty treatment while you’re there!
Natural health care:
The Abbey Mead Natural Health Centre on Plymouth Road offers a wide range of alternative therapies including crystal therapy, Indian head massage, ****eopathy, and acupuncture. Visit their website for more information.
There is also Lisa Gleadhill, a local Reflexologist who specialises in pregnancy and fertility, and C Knight who offers hypnotherapy.
Have you used any of the places mentioned above? What's your verdict? Do you know of any other 'me time' places I've missed out? Let us know!
