Finding a new job is a common New Year’s resolution, but now that the Tavistock branch of the Jobcentre Plus has closed down, not everyone knows where to look locally.

If you’re looking for a change in career then it’s definitely worth getting in touch with Tavistaff in Paddon’s Row. I went there for a meeting a few years ago, and they were extremely helpful and very friendly. They have a great deal of both full and part time positions available in a variety of fields.

It's also worth having a look on the Jobcentre Plus website. You can still access a whole host of local jobs at www.jobseekers.direct.gov.uk.

Alternatively, another great online site is www.jobsite.co.uk. They’ve got a huge range of vacancies on file, and the site’s pretty user friendly. It’s well worth having a look at. I can personally recommend this site because that’s where I found this Community Publishing role :) You can either go straight to the site at www.jobsite.co.uk, or navigate there through the ‘Search for ... Jobs’ box on the left hand side of the Tavistock People homepage. There's also a 'Local Jobs' box which is worth keeping your eye on.

Have you had success through any of the above avenues? Can you recommend any other job hunting tips?
