Man trapped in RTA near Bere Alston

Shortly before 7am this morning local fire crews were called to Denham Bridge, near Bere Alston after reports of a car crashing into a tree. One male passenger was trapped inside the vehicle with suspected spinal injuries.

With Watch Commander Sahw in charge, crews set to work using hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle. The man was then transferred to the ambulance on a spinal board and taken straight to hospital.
