Police appeal after sex attack on lady walking towards Tavistock

Police in Cornwall are appealing for assistance in the investigation, following an allegation of serious sexual assault which occurred in the Kelly Bray area, near Callington on Thursday 20th January.
The incident occurred late at night and continued into the early hours of Friday morning.
The victim, a white woman in her 50’s, was walking along the A386 between Roborough and Tavistock when a silver vehicle stopped and the male driver offered her a lift.
The driver then drove to an isolated location in Kelly Bray where he sexually assaulted the woman.
After the attack the man drove for some distance with the victim still in the car. She managed to escape from the vehicle when they neared the Roborough area of Plymouth.
The suspect is described as a white man, in his twenties, approximately 5’ 10” in height. He was average build with short blond hair, blue eyes, a rounded face, and was wearing blue jeans with a white t-shirt. He was wearing a gold wedding ring.
Police would like to hear from anyone who either saw the victim walking along the Tavistock Road during the evening, or has information regarding the identity of the suspect.
