BT & Virgin Media Mental Torture
By pobox112 | Wednesday, March 02, 2011, 23:39
With over 90 percent of the Devon County Council Area not
-
Planned for Devon - For Cornwall reverse the squares
being on any Fibre Optic Roll Out Plan. We have to put up with old worn out and
failing copper networks, well that seems to be the situation when there is so much variation in broadband speed.
There is a continual commercial bombardment from BT Total
Broadband and Virgin Media Broadband to get connected and enjoy superfast
broadband.
For the vast majority
of Devon these companies should be renamed ‘BT not really Total Broadband’ and ‘Virgin
Territory Media Broadband’.
Why are we without proper planning or push? There is enough over government and other
representation for Devon, can it all be so inept and disinterested?
I am beginning to believe the answer is a big Yes. This
opinion is formed from searching the internet, where you would expect information
to be. Organisations seem to be firmly
in bed with Devon County Council fast asleep.
Meanwhile the torture via every marketing medium you can think
of continues.

ReportDon't be daft. While you are waiting for your music to download or whatever you are trying to do, why don't you just read a book. You used to do that before computers were invented!

ReportIt is sad to read this when just a stone's throw away across the border, the situation is so different:
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are set to become one of the best connected locations in the world under an ambitious £132 million project announced by BT and Cornwall Council and supported by European funding. The project will benefit tens of thousands of local businesses, create 4,000 new local jobs and protect a further 2,000.
The area will benefit from faster broadband thanks to the creation of a high speed network that will be open to all communications providers on a wholesale basis. The aim is to give between 80 and 90 per cent of local businesses and homes access to super-fast fibre broadband by 2014.
