It's about time the Rugby Club took responsibility for the policing of events they hold. Too often there is damage to local residents property with no response, apology, or reaction worthy of the paper it's written on.

Time for the Council to take away their license to hold events until they can sort out the problems and damage caused by their guests.

I couldn't agree more. Have you reported this to the police?

More to the point - have you made a complaint in any form to Authorities at any level?

HAS your property been damaged ?

WHAT is the damage and cost of repair?

Have YOU spoken DIRECTLY to the Rugby Club about your problems, if any?

OR are you just upset at the increased flow of traffic up YOUR road for a couple of days a year?

Yes our cars have been damaged several times and this has been reported to the police.

We have spoken directly with the Rugby club, but to no avail. The people running the club think it's some sort of joke, inviting us to attend events. We don't want to go to their events, we want them to police them.

I think the front page of last week's Tavy TImes covers this nicely - one car written off is taking things way beyond anything that has happened before, this is criminal damage.

Damage to cars happens regularly - far more than the twice a year quoted in the paper by the Rugby club - a quick check of the police records should confirm this. As the club's regular events are only open to members, this points the finger directly at its members (not non-members as suggested in the Rugby Club's statement).

We would be happy with an increased flow of traffic. We are unhapppy with the drunken behaviour of the people attending events held at the Rugby club who are WALKING back to town - too drunk to drive.

resident999 - Thank you for a more descriptive report. As with any Club, members are allowed guests. There are also times when Member's Clubs can also invite non members. So please expand on your thoughts regarding that. What we do know is that this type of behaviour is primarily fuelled by alcohol. But that said it takes a certain type of immature and underlying irresponsible person to do this. There are then a multitude of reasons for going on to carry out these criminal acts. We should not be looking to the Rugby Club to police the public streets. They will at their own premises and follow heavily laden licensing laws. We have a Police Service which operates on a huge budget.. They are not there for decoration, What do they intend doing at the time these matters are likely to take place? Are they just content to take reports after the crimes?
