Bike & scooter parking in Tavistock and sounding towns

If more people are going to use bikes and scooters to get around to save costs then more parking needs to be provided.  Maybe convert 1 in 10 car marked bays for bike use.
For example in Duke street Tavistock - bikes can park in the same bays as cars, but do car drivers look before they move off?

I do ride my bike to town weather permitting, but the trouble is I live at Brentor, it is great going to Tavistock but not so good going home again, I wish they would open up the railway from Tavistock to Lydford as a bike track, I am sure a lot more people would cycle to town.

I am getting confused with the term 'bike' in the context of the last posting. Are we on about pedal cycles or motor bikes?
