Apologies in advance bt I'm going to go on a bit of a rant of my own! Why do people in Tavi always use the cobbled humps in the road as zebra crossings!?? I'm sure people have a death wish! It's one thing walking out in front of a moving car yourself, but it's something else when you push a pram out first! It seems that we have our own little law within the town, which I used to find endearing, but after witnesses someone that clearly wasn't local nearly run someone over I now just think it's dangerous. Anyone who has driven down the main high street will surely know what I'm talking about.

As far as I know no one has ever had an accident because of this. As you implied - it's part of Tavistock's charm.

If there have not been any accidents, there are certainly many near misses. It will of course need a serious incident to take place, then Devon County County will look into it. What they need to do at Ivory Tower Hall is look at low key crossings for historic settings. If they have enough time given the urgent need for parking meter tax planning.
