Dukes is ideal for all occasions! It does brilliant food, which arrives in good time!! Especially their homemade soups and nachos!! There is a wide selction of drinks and sweet snacks! and i great section outside to eat at and watch things go by (brilliant in the summer)! The staff are very friendly and it is of good price! There is also a very good take away service which is very quick and you can see the food being made infront of you! Can be busy at times due to its popularity but generally always a quick service or a seat available in time!

Would not accept two loyalty cards totalling 10 stamps

Bit disappointed they would not take my two loyalty card which totalled 10 stamps. Said they had to be all on one card. Then coffee a bit cold, on a cold morning.

What no tea pots?

This is quite agood cafe especially for watching the world go by. I don't visit a lot as they don't do pots of tea which is a shame.

Dukes has been in Tavistock for as long as I can remember...

Dukes has been in Tavistock for as long as I can remember. Its only small but does a good trade, always busy both the cafe and the take-away hut to the left of the main cafe. It is well run and well staffed. The tables are always clean and the seating outside is lovely on a sunny day and also handy if you have a pooch with you! Its a lovely area to sit out with a great coffee and read the paper early on a cold morning!

Lovely little cafe tucked away off the main street..

Lovely little cafe tucked away off the main street in by the Pannier Market. Only small but a few outside sheltered tables. Seems to have an amazing reputation and is very well established within the Tavistock locals. I used it every lunchtime whilt working on Tavistock for a short time and it never dissapionted. The homemade soup and the jacket potatoes are the best around. (The hot chocolates here are a must on a cold winters day!)

Good food

I went to this place a few weeks ago on a friends recommendation and was quite impressed. I did try and visit the week before, but couldnt find it as it is quite tucked away next to the market. Perhaps they could use more signs? I will more than likely be visiting again when in Tavistock in the future.

Tasty food :)

Ive been visiting this food place for years now and dont think Tavistock would be the same without it. All the food it really tasty and the prices arent too bad either. They do a range of lunch-timey type foods including jacket potatoes, soup, and paninis. They also do a good hot chocolate.

Dukes Coffee House is a coffee shop in the centre of Tavistock but still offers that peace and quiet that you should expect from a quality coffee shop. Really good coffee, a full menu of great food, clean and cool interior, staff make you feel right at home. Its well worth a visit if youre out and about in Tavi.

Pretty good

All in all, a very pleasant cafe nd I would recommend it. All the food appears fresh and tasty. Teas, coffees and hot chocolate is all to the same high standard. There is also a nice outside seating area that feels quite Mediterranean when the weather is nice! The waitresses are always smiley and efficient and the prices are no different to what youd expect from a town such as Tavistock.
