Traffic layout provides grim work

I APPLAUD frustrated driver, D Adams of Whitleigh, on their letter (January 27), in particular with reference to the Tavistock Road approach to the Manadon roundabout.
I sympathise with this person; he or she deserves to be heard, but I fear it is a fruitless exercise. No one is seemingly willing to understand or even care, despite numerous readers' letters previously.
I was possibly one of the first to write to Your Say and complain in October 2010. I said then it was a crackpot idea, and in my view it remains so.
What consideration was given to those wishing to exit Southwell Road? Seemingly none. We hear so much about health and safety concerns these days, but I fear that no letters or protests will achieve the sensible desired result. In my opinion, the layout is ideally designed to provide work for ambulance crews and undertakers. Who in their right mind could be satisfied with that?
