Research shows that 77% of people own a bike yet only 14% use them regularly, so this year Team Green Britain Bike Week is encouraging people to dust down and liberate the thousands of once-loved bikes languishing in sheds around the country.

Bike riding events in Tavistock
Cycling has become increasingly popular and this year the group is challenging people to rethink their everyday journeys, and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.
Team Green Britain Bike Week encourages participants to make 'everyday cycling for everyone!' They're celebrating all things cycling with this impressive variety of events happening through the week. Biking events near Tavistock include:
* Cycle into summer with Active Villages - guided bike rides from Lamerton Village Hall for all the family. First Ride is Saturday 25th June. Free of Charge. Led by Qualified Instructors, includes a stop for picnic lunch. For more information call Annie on 01822 614178
* BMX Trails Grand Opening - Tavistock Meadows Park, Sunday 19th June. Check out the dirt jumps competitions, live music, prizes and entertainment. For more information contact Tavistock Youth Café on 01822 612851.
