Tavistock and Okehampton annual car parking season tickets are being reduced by up to 45%  from April 1 – and in some cases will cost less than 70p a day - following a move by West Devon Borough Council to make parking more affordable.

Motorists will be able to park in town centre borough council car parks from as little as £1.10 per day as season tickets are reduced from £720 per year to just £400.

Season tickets for parking in borough council car parks on the outskirts of town will now be £195 a year – working out at less than 70p a day. Rural car park season tickets will be £155 for the year.

West Devon Borough Councillor Robert Oxborough, Environment and Community Committee Chairman, said: "We hope that these substantial reductions will benefit those who work in the centre of Okehampton and Tavistock during the day.

"The decision to lower season ticket prices is a reflection of this Council's wider drive to offer value for money parking options, support local business, improve our town centres and aid the growth of the local economy."

To buy your season ticket or for further information about them, call West Devon Borough Council's Customer Services Team on 01822 813600 or email services@westdevon.gov.uk.
