ARE YOU PLANNING TO celebrate New Year's Eve in Tavistock? If you haven't made up your mind yet where to go, here's some ideas for you...

See in the New Year in Tavistock!
If you fancy seeing in 2013 in style, book a table at Browns Hotel. You'll need to dress up smart - that's black tie or lounge suits for gentlemen (no jeans) and cocktail or posh frocks for ladies. The New Year's Eve menu is £69.50 per person. Described as a "wonderful celebration six-course gourmet tasting menu", it uses the freshest festive produce.
As midnight chimes the team will help you bring in the New Year to the tradition of Auld Land Syne. You can then either dance the night away to the sounds of the Nick Coles Band (with covers from Damien Rice to Bill Withers), or relax at your table, chatting. You will need to book quickly though, as there are currently only four tables left.
Booking up fast
If a relaxing restaurant is more your style, book a table at The Terrace Restaurant. According to the restaurant's website, New Year's Eve is booking up fast, but if you can get in there, the Terrace is planning "a relaxed dining experience". Alongside its A La Carte and Favourites menu, it's promising a "few little surprises in store to make the evening special!"
Fireworks
There's a wide variety of pubs to choose from in Tavistock, of course. As part of its New Year celebrations, the Whitchurch Inn is planning to have fireworks at midnight. The bar will will be running until at least 2.30am.
The Ordulph is offering a free juke box and has a late bar. There's also late bars at the Cornish Arms (1am), The Market Inn (2am) and The Union Inn (3am)
Whatever you choose to do in and around Tavistock this New Year, you're bound to have a fantastic time – Happy New Year everyone!
NB: Please check with all venues prior to travelling, especially if tickets are required, as an event may be sold out this near to New Year's Eve.
What are you doing for New Year? We'd love to know, so remember to tell us all about your event – and don't forget to share your photos with us here at Tavistock People!
