Arrests made for Horrabridge Church lead theft

Police attended St John the Baptist Church in Horrabridge at 1.00am on Friday morning after receiving reports of two men stealing lead from the church roof.

The men fled the scene upon arrival of the officers, but were arrested nearby following a dog unit assisted search.

The lead that had been removed from the roof was found within the churchyard.

The two men - both 18 and from Plymouth - were detained at Charles Cross for interview, and have now been released on bail until 29th September.
