Tavistock College is delighted to be celebrating a raft of positive results and success stories following this year's publication of the A level results.

99% of the Colleges' year 13 leavers passed their A Level courses and 75% of students achieved a pass at an A*-C grade.  48% gained A*-B grades and 23% gained A*/A grades.

The Principal, Helen Salmon, said: "These results continue to demonstrate the College's strong performance at A Level.

"This is a testament to students' and staffs' hard work. It is also wonderful to see so many of our students going on to study degrees at prestigious universities."

There has been Oxbridge success again this year, with Robin Jones gaining four As at A2 and one A at AS to win a place at Oxford university to study Medicine. After opening his results, Robin stated: "I am really happy and really surprised. I'm very excited about the future".

In addition, Matthew Havron gained an A* and two As at A2 to gain a place to study Engineering at Southampton;  Mia Thomas gained three A grades at A2 and one A grade at AS to study Medicine at Bristol University; Kit Tigwell achieved two A*s and an A at A2 to study Medicine at Nottingham; Sebastian Reid gained three A*s at A2 and an A at AS to win a place at Birmingham to study Physics with Astrophysics; Hannah Stones achieved three As at A2 and an A at AS and will take up a place to study law at Southampton.

Massive congratulations to everyone who worked so hard for their results :-)

I would just like to say that it's not the be all and end all if you didn't get the results you 'needed'. I actually got quite low A Level results, but after working for a couple of years, decided to apply to a university course anyway. Although I had no where near enough points, I got accepted for an interview based upon both my grades AND my life/work experience. I got through the interview and was offered a place based on the above, and my enthusiasm. In hind sight it was the best thing that could have happend to me because I don't think I was in the right 'place' to go to uni when I was 18. Just remember - everything happens for a reason guys. It may not feel like it at the moment, but things do have a funny way of working out for the best.
