Recycling your Christmas tree? Real Christmas trees can be placed out with garden waste collections, although West Devon Borough Council say that the trunk must be no thicker than an adult's wrist
West Devon Borough Council is encouraging residents to be green following the festivities and recycle as much as possible. Christmas cards can be recycled by simply placing them in the green kerbside box on the correct collection date.
Real Christmas trees can also be placed out with garden waste collections. However, the trunk of the Christmas tree should be no thicker than an adult's wrist. Thick, plain brown card can also be placed out with garden waste collections. Unfortunately, wrapping paper cannot be recycled because of the type of print and paper.
There are revised collection dates for recycling and waste collections over the festive period, so residents are advised to check the borough council's website www.westdevon.gov.uk for those dates.
