Is everyone excited about the up-coming Diamond Jubilee weekend?
-
'Jubilee in the Meadows' details
There's lots going on around Tavistock including a Vintage & Textile Fair, a Jubilee Market in Bedford Sqaure, and the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon on Whitchurch Down. The Tavistock Meadows will also be hosting a 2-day long celebration on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 June. This will include live music, a beer festival (run by the Tavistock Lions), children's entertainment, food stalls, a drinks tent (run by the Tavistock Town Hall staff), and big screen showing footage of the London Jubilee celebrations.
The Leaping Salmon will be hosting a special Jubilee Quiz on Monday 4th June, and a family event in the car park on the Tuesday.
The annual Tavistock Garden Festival will also be running on the Sunday and Monday, and will include a garden container competition on June 3, a hawk display on June 4, food stalls, and of course garden displays and stalls.
Have we missed any local Jubilee events off the list? Let us know via the comments section below, or click here to post the event directly to the Tavistock People events calendar.
How will you be celebrating? Are you or anyone you know having a street party? Add your comments, and don't forget to vote in the three Tavistock People Diamond Jubilee polls.
We want to make sure that we have local record Diamond Jubilee, so please take photos of your celebrations and either email them to tavistock@thelocalpeople.co.uk or post them to the Tavistock People Facebook page wall. We'll add them to a Jubilee gallery which will be great to look back on in years to come :-)
