AN ANGLER has been fined for fishing without a licence.
Dariusz Marchochi, aged 34, was caught by a water bailiff with a rod and line at Tavistock Trout Fishery, Plymouth magistrates heard.
Marchochi, of Neath Road, Lipson, pleaded guilty by post.
Ramin Shamsolahi, prosecuting for the Environment Agency, said the water bailiff caught him fishing on May 30 last year. Asked for his licence, he admitted he did not have one.
Marchochi, in a letter to the court, said he had bought a licence later that same day and enclosed a copy. Magistrates fined him £100, ordered that he pay £127 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

ReportCome on, Plymoids, try to think...
What is the point of fishing licences? To reduce the danger of over-fishing - meaning that there will continue to be fish in the rivers, so that future generations can enjoy fishing.
